One thing I've discovered since losing almost 80 lbs is that I am NOT the warm-blooded girl I thought I was. I was just fat and well-insulated. Now that I've lost this weight, I am freezing cold all.the.time. Jeff got tired of me stealing his blankets at night and bought me an extra blanket for our bed. I now sleep under two giant blankets and I still get cold most nights. ((TMI Alert: I can't stand to sleep in clothes, otherwise I'd get myself some warm pajamas))
My hands and feet are cold 24/7 and I can't be outside for more than a minute before I'm chilled to the bone. I take hot showers and baths every chance I get just to warm up and I have to wear layers whenever I go out.
Oh, the crazy things that happen to our bodies when we shed the pounds. Not that I would change it for a second. I'd rather spend the rest of my life with icesicles haning off my nose than be back up to 300 lbs for even a day.
Freeze On!!
I'm with you on this one. I am so cold all the time now, it's crazy. I've been sleeping with two blankets at night too!
ReplyDeleteI need to get a second blanket, I've been freezing my tail off... I hope it "warms up" soon, I'm starting to get cold easier, too!
ReplyDeleteI live in Denver and I have hated my commute to work every morning this week. Can't wait for this winter to end.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I have this same issue. I can't get warm pretty much ever. Over the summer it was great because the heat really didn't affect me like it used to.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that it is a small price to pay...blankets and extra socks don't cost that much and they sure are prettier than an extra 90+ pounds of fat! ;)
BTW - at your current weight you should cross off your airplane seat goal. You're actually a few pounds below me (dang it) and it was smooth sitting all the way to Phoenix a couple weeks ago!!
And I am not familiar with Coyote Ridge, but we should do that together once it gets warmer...
I'm cold too!
ReplyDeleteYour airplane seat comment made me grin from ear-to-ear Tracy! I know I can do it, but I dont' want to cross it off until my formerly fat ass is actually IN the seat. lol
ReplyDeleteAs for Coyote Ridge, its actually kind of a sucky hike. Not much to look at, which is such a waste in Colorado, kwim? You'd love Devil's Backbone. We will totally do that this spring/summer. And likewise, I want you to take me through Garden of the Gods down in the springs, ok?
I've only lost about 35 pounds, but am already having the same issues with cold. We actually broke down and bought an electric blanket!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to feeling cold. I'm still hot most of the time. My feet get cold, but I have comfy, warm slippers.
ReplyDeleteTry electric blanket for your convenience.
ReplyDeleteThis would help you to stay warm. i think atleast you will stop shivering.
Electric Blankets are awesome...i Have got one and enjoying...
